PDRA – MIRAS IR Microspectroscopy Beamline in ALBA

A postdoctoral position has opened for the MIRAS IR Microspectroscopy Beamline in ALBA.

The work to be carried out will mainly consist on research tasks oriented to increase his/her skills and professional expertise on infrared microspectroscopy. These tasks should lead to the
consolidation of his/her professional experience.

Therefore, successful candidate for the Postdoctoral position at MIRAS will:

  • Help in the construction and commissioning of MIRAS beamline, within the beamline team, and with the support of the appropriate ALBA personnel.
  • Collaborate in the developing a research scientific program in synchrotron infrared microspectroscopy.

After the successful commissioning of the beamline, and within the beamline team, to provide user support (both to academic as well as to industrial users), to carry out in-house research, to help in maintaining and upgrading the beamline.

ALBA is the Spanish 3-GeV synchrotron radiation facility operated by the Consortium CELLS, which is equally funded by the Spanish Government (Ministerio de Economía y Competividad) and the
Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya, Departament d’Economia i Coneixement).

As part of the phase II beamlines, MIRAS is a synchrotron infrared microspectroscopy (SIRMS) beamline. It is being built according to the successful proposal of the user community.
