Applications are invited for a post-doctoral level positions funded by Cancer Research UK on Validating Serum Spectroscopy for Early Diagnosis and Stratification of Gliomas to work within the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry at the University of Strathclyde, UK. This position will develop and validate the utility of serum spectroscopy within Gliomas.
To be considered for this role, you will be educated to a minimum PhD level in a relevant discipline, or have equivalent experience. You will have demonstrable experience in infrared spectral analysis including multivariate analysis in particular machine learning algorithms and pre-processing of infrared spectra, excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders including the project funders. This project will be based in the Technology and Innovation Centre at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, UK a research centre designed to accelerate the way in which researchers in academia and industry collaborate and innovate together.
This project brings together an excellent team including Dr Damion Corrigan (Strathclyde), Prof. Roy Goodacre & Mr Michael Jenkinson (Liverpool), Mr Paul Brennan (Edinburgh) and the successful candidate will work with postdoctoral level scientists in the fields of electrochemistry, mass spectrometry and molecular biology.
