The School of Physics is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Radiation and Environmental Science Centre (RESC). The job involves developing imaging techniques and data mining methods surrounding a Raman and FTIR spectroscopic imaging approach for objective histopathology and other applications.
Applicants should have obtained their PhD in a relevant discipline, involving a significant component of computational biology, chemometrics, data mining or similar. Knowledge of data mining as applied to imaging and/or knowledge of biophotonics will be an advantage. This project involves a collaboration with the Department of Surgery, TCD, and the Conway Institute, UCD and provides an
excellent interdisciplinary environment in biophotonics and imaging, data mining and cancer biology.
In addition the successful candidate will avail of mentoring and training in a range of general career development areas including:
- Grant writing;
- Research Management;
- Research Career Planning;
- Intellectual Property Rights and Commercialisation;
Discipline specific training in bioinformatics, advanced machine learning and other topics will also be provided as appropriate.
